I have mixed feelings about Peter Jackson‘s new trilogy. On one hand the only Lord of the Rings film I really liked was the first one. On the other hand, the second two were still pretty damn exciting. On one hand The Hobbit was pretty lacklustre. On the other hand, who doesn’t want to see a bunch of dwarves fight a massive dragon? This first trailer for The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug seems to continue the cartoon-ish quality of action and visuals set by the first film. There also seems to a distinct focus on Orlando Bloom’s Legolas, which seems strange considering Legolas never showed up in Tolkein’s original novel. Whatever, I’ll still be there opening day. In 48fps.
