Woody’s roundup.

cafe society

Here is a trailer for a Woody Allen film. That might many any number of things to you. It might conjure any form of emotion for you. For us, it conjured a healthy degree of disinterest. The film is called Café Society.

Sure, anyone can bemoan the fact that Woody Allen has been on autopilot for decades and has been repeating himself relentlessly for about that same amount of  time, but the reason that anyone can do it is because it’s true. And yet, the man has an incredible knack for assembling some of the best casts this side of Cutthroat Island. Just goes to show, you make a handful of masterpieces, and folks will bloody love ya.

You know what though? If there’s one thing we’ve got a weakness for when it comes to films, it’s films about filmmaking. Chuck Sunset BoulevardThe Player or The Artist at us any day of the week and we’ll give you a ‘Yessir thankyasir’ right back atchya.

Have a watch of Hannah And Her Sisters. It’s wonderful.

“A young man arrives in Hollywood during the 1930s hoping to work in the film industry. There, he falls in love, and finds himself swept up in the vibrant café society that defined the spirit of the age.”

Café Society stars Kristen Stewart, Blake Lively, Jesse Eisenberg, Steve Carell, Corey Stoll and Parker Posey and is set for release in August, 2016.
