Eh?

If your response to this brand new trailer for the Lifetime channel movie, A Deadly Adoption, is a simple ‘eh?’ then your response is the correct one. ‘Eh?’ we muttered when we first watched it, and it’s a response we’re standing by. There are some comedic actors that make wonderful dramatic actors. Jim Carrey is one. Ever seen Eternal Sunshine? Wowzers. Will Ferrell may not be one. And yet here he is, playing it straight for this very melodramatic looking flick about a couple who invite an unhinged pregnant woman into their home. Why on earth the filmmakers thought Kristen Wiig and Will Ferrell, both almost exclusively known for their comedic work, would be appropriate choices for such earnestly serious material is beyond us. But there it is. I guess that’s why we don’t make the big bucks. Gee it’d be great if we made the big bucks.

“Inspired by a true story, “A Deadly Adoption” is a high-stakes dramatic thriller about a successful couple who house and care for a pregnant woman during the final months of her pregnancy with the hopes of adopting her unborn child.”

A Deadly Adoption stars Kristin Wiig, Will Ferrell, Jessica Lowndes and Alyvia Alyn Lind and is set on the Lifetime channel later this month.
