The Criterion Collection, or old faithful, recently shared this awesome video that explains how the iconic head explosion scene in David Cronenberg’s Scanners was accomplished. This was a time when movies still only had practical effects at their disposal, as CGI really only took off almost a decade later. If you haven’t seen the film Scanners, chances are you may know this infamous scene, which as it turns out was quite difficult to execute.
