Can you believe that it’s been two years since Wes Anderson’s The Grand Budapest Hotel was unleashed upon the world, and we first got treated to this absolute ripsnorter of a track (which, by the way, is a top notch tune to listen to when you first get out of bed in the morning). Can you also believe that it will be another two years until Wes Anderson’s next film will be released? It’s crazy stuff to take in, but it’s all true.

Having Wes Anderson withdrawals, are you? Fear not, person, because the internetweb just treated us to a brand new commercial from the man, and it’s definitely more short Wes Anderson film than actual advertisement.

Anderson is no stranger to the world of advertising, having had his hand in a whole bunch of wonderful commercials over the course of his career. This little nugget just happens to be for the Swedish multinational clothing-retail company H&M, a company from which this humble writer purchased a jacket about eleven years ago. The jacket has since been lost. Here’s a brief synopsis for the Wes Anderson H&M ad, which is titled “Come Together“:

“Lone passengers are traveling to join their loved ones for the Christmas holiday, but winter weather conspires to way-lay them.”

Sure, advertising is pretty much the worst thing in the world except for all actually bad things like war and murder and Michael Bublé, but sometimes, on very rare occasions, ads can make us forget that they’re trying to sell us stuff and just take us along for a great, short ride.
