Depp trouble.

From the look of this brand new trailer, Black Mass could be a step in the right direction for Johnny Depp, who’s been languishing in a sea of over the top silliness for the past decade or so. The film is directed by Scott Cooper, who was responsible for Crazy Heart and Out Of The Furnace and has one of the most impressive casts this side of Paul Blart: Mall Cop 2. We’ve gone from disinterested to very interested all of a sudden and a lot of it has to do with this creepy trailer. We certainly won’t be inviting Johnny Depp around for steak any time soon. Our willingness to divulge family recipes has also wained somewhat. We never thought we’d ever say this again, but Depp doesn’t look half bad in this.

Black Mass stars Johnny Depp, Joel Edgerton, Benedict Cumberbatch, Kevin Bacon, Jesse Plemons, Sienna Miller and Rory Cochrane and is set for release in September, 2015.
