He’s back, baby!

Magic Mike was great and there’s nothing you can do to dissuade us of that, dammit. Sure he’s a stripper, but he’s got huge dreams! He makes coffee tables! Can’t you see there’s more to him than his dancing?!? Ah Channing, ye body and ye charm help make yer face ok. Anyhoo, Steven Soderbergh, the director of the first film, isn’t coming back for number two (although he is on board as director of photography), with big ol’ Gregory Jacobs taking over directorial duties. Judging from the trailer below, Magic Mike XXL appears to have lost the limited nuance that the first film had but honestly, who even cares? It looks like a helluva good time and even Andie MacDowell is back on the film train. Who’s ready to go on another fun ride (pun intended) with Mike and the gang? We are! *strolls away cheerfully while whistling Ginuwine’s “Pony”*

Magic Mike XXL stars Channing Tatum, Matt Bomer, Joe Manganiello, Kevin Nash, Adam Rodriguez, Andie MacDowell, Jada Pinkett Smith and Elizabeth Banks and is set for release in July, 2015.
