Remember the scene at the end of Giuseppe Tornatore’s Cinema Paradiso when Salvatore watches the compilation of all those on screen kisses? Moving stuff, yeah? Well, how do you feel about hands? Robert Bresson certainly loved them, as the below video should almost certainly attest to. This is a neat little video essay showcasing Bresson’s interests in hands. If that sounds boring to you, it’s actually not. Bresson was a reasonably prolific director during the French New Wave known in part for his spiritual aesthetic.
