Well, they lost the space race but godamn it they managed to beat us to Tolkien. I sure as hell didn’t know that the Russians made an adaptation of The Hobbit back in 1985, but I’m very happy I do now. This video is in Russian, so it may be hard to understand for anybody who doesn’t actually speak the mother tongue, but it’s still pretty funny to watch. For some reason, they changed the name of it to ‘The Fabulous Journey of Mr. Bilbo Baggins the Hobbit.’ Punchy.
