Ryan’s tryin’.

Could Ryan Reynolds finally be in a good movie? It’s been quite a few years since we’ve seen anything from director Tarsem Singh, the man behind Mirror Mirror, Immortals and The Fall but he’s back with Self/less, a science fiction thriller starring Ben Kingsley and Ryan Reynolds. Solid premise, despite this trailer giving away what seems like could be the entire plot. Singh has yet to dazzle us, but with his great eye for snazzy visuals, science fiction could be right up his alley. Ryan Reynolds at least seems to be making an effort to be part of something interesting.

“In this provocative psychological science fiction thriller, an extremely wealthy man (Academy Award winner Ben Kingsley) dying from cancer undergoes a radical medical procedure that transfers his consciousness into the body of a healthy young man (Ryan Reynolds). But all is not as it seems when he starts to uncover the mystery of the body’s origin and the organization that will kill to protect its cause.”

Self/less stars Ryan Reynolds, Ben Kingsley, Michelle Dockery and Matthew Goode and is set for release in July, 2015.
